One Piece 762. !Spoilers!

Good evening/morning (it's 2am here),

So I know most of my posts have been about One Piece but i'm still geekin out about it. So the new chapter came out today and we finally got our Trafalgar Law flashback, and guess what? Now we don't want it. Oda, you can have it back.

Traffy is like the love of my life (seriously, <3) so all this heartbreaking stuff that's happened to him throughout his life is keeping me up at night (not literally. but still.) I bet when creating the whole Dressrosa arc, no, in fact, way before that, I bet Oda thought he'd create loads of lovable characters and then get everybodys hearts and put them into a blender by giving them such tragic back stories. As I said in my last post, one of the things I love about One Piece is the whole 'brother' dynamic, and I think that's why this is effecting me so much. Law reminds me a little of Ace. Where Law wants to destroy everything and kill everyone before he dies, Ace wanted to find out why he was living. Let face it, I don't need another reminder of Ace. Cries.

In this chapter we get to see Lawsie's family for the first time, and if you walked in on me reading this, you would have seen me gawking. He has a sister and when I found that out I just crumbled, not only that, but they were such a lovely normal family who were trying to find a cure for the poison, just like how the nun stayed behind to save the children. Law must have been reminded of that when the Strawhats wanted to stay behind on Punk Hazard. Everything is coming together in a really awful way.

This is a picture of a normal happy family THAT PRESENT DAY LAW COULD HAVE SAVED. Imagine how much remorse he feels. Omg it's killing me. Before Lamie dies, Law gave up his chance of escape to hold her hand and reassure her, despite knowing that there wasn't a chance. Seriously, older brothers in One Piece = <3.

Not only that, but everyone treats little baby Law like nothing but a disease despite what he's been through...

Baby 5 won't even touch any part of him other than his hat, and Trebol refused to even go near him. HE'S A BABY DAMN IT! GIVE HIM A HUG!

This chapter was so important, not only do we get baby Dellinger (seriously, cute cute), but we see this:

This is so fascinating, because now I'm all confused over what to expect next, and how exactly Law and Corazon's relationship works out. Where do relations go downhill with Doflamingo? So much so that this happens:

I mean seriously, how much of a dick is Dof that he has to use lead bullets to remind Law of his past. What a kick in the balls. That's why I hate to love Doflamingo. Yeah, he's a prick, and I hate him for all the wrongs he's done to King Riku, and Rebecca, and the Tontatta, and Bellamy, and Luffy, and, most importantly, Law, but he's also one of the best, most interesting and charismatic villains that's ever graced One Piece. I will actually be kind of sad when he leaves, because he's so interesting. He's so evil, yet so respectful of his crew/family. Stupid Doflamingo. I love/hate you.

So in 762 the fandom kind of burst into flames. We see baby Dellinger, loving big brother Doffy, Trafalgar (everyone I love is dead) Law's family, Law's friends which were all suddenly BRUTALLY MURDERED (Oda, please)....So I have a happy little theory and a sad little theory:

Happy little theory - No one actually SAW Lamie die. MAYBE she will come back...
Sad...super sad....heartbreaking....theory: What if Law did the eternal life surgery on Luffy after Marineford? What if Law is going to die? That's why he put all his faith in Luffy. What if he saved him in the first place because he couldn't save his family? Oh no. Oda can't do that to us.

Marineford: An Unimportant Filler.

If this is true, then I am both really excited and having to mentally prepare my psych for inevitable downfall (I just showed this picture to my friend and he asked me when my funeral was.) 

Call me a weirdo or Weeaboo trash or whatever, but I rewatch the Marineford Arc every year in November (the anniversary of when I first watched it), and it makes me cry every time. I will always have more emotion when it concerns family or friends, rather than a relationship or love story, and the story of the three brothers in One Piece touches my heart. I think the whole 'brother' thing within One Piece is really important, because not only does it mean family, but it means friendship, and what makes Luffy so fierce? As Mihawk says, his power to make friends.                                                                                                 As a fan of pirate history, I've always loved looking into the history of great and famous pirates - Blackbeard, Silver, Hornigold, Anne Bonney etc, and even in real life, the brotherhood was there.                                                                                                                 Quite recently in the anime, and a few chapters ago in the manga, Bartolomeo (a definite favourite) protects Bellamy from Dellinger and states that after fighting in the same ring together, the two are now war brothers, and that he would never turn his back on that. This was just an awesome moment, cause he's a fan, a big fan, of Luffy and the Strawhats and surely knew that Ace was Luffys big brother. Bartolomeo is a great monument to brotherhood and friends just like the strawhats, and it's really what One Piece is all about. It makes me wonder whether Bartolomeo could be a candidate for the next crew member? Maybe.

The whole Dressrosa arc so far is a roller coaster ride. You just have to look at the facial expressions to see that. I particularly loved the involvement of a love story between Kyros and Scarlett and how it took a backseat. Alliances and history and family was far more important to Oda. That's what's so great about One Piece.

Having several mental breakdowns...spoilers

Seriously, I've read the manga, so I knew this was going to happen, but it's still so awesome and exciting to see Sabo again after waiting over 2 years. 

#1: Tokyo Ghoul

WARNING spoilers: 

Okay so, hi. Basically I created this blog because I think I was getting really annoying on twitter with all my manga/anime related tweets. Truth is, I have barely any friends that are into it and sometimes I feel starved of discussion. Hence, this blog has come to fruition. Now I can get ridiculously, out of control excited about it or bitch and moan about it to my hearts content. 

I recently visited Africa, a land not really overly concerned with wifi (not to mention the whole experience was kind of distracting), so I was very behind on my manga reading and anime watching. It therefore took me a while to realise, to my and, I'm guessing, the whole fandoms dismay, that many peoples favourite summer 2014 manga, Tokyo Ghoul, ended at chapter 143. 

Was anyone else super upset?

I felt there were so many things left unsaid in a way. Like Ishida Sui kind of dropped several massive bombs on us and then left us to pick up the pieces afterward. First of all, the reveal of Uta and the fact that he is actually not the cutie patooty we all came to know and love. We all wanted him to have a bigger role in the manga and then when he finally got one we all found ourselves screaming 'NO NOT LIKE THIS!' 

Then there's the whole Touka thing. We got to know her as a strong female character who was stubborn and in fact went to save Kaneki from the Aogiri Tree. I wanted to see more of her relationship with Kaneki. I wanted her to help him and  Yoshimura and I think it's in her character to do so. Yet she did nothing. I wanted more or her. Surely she wouldn't care about Yomos warning and go. Also, what about her and her brother? 

Then there's the biggy. It was pretty obvious that something big was gonna come of the writer that Kaneki admires from the start, but it turns out that she is actually Yoshimuras daughter AND one eyed owl. That was awesome...but then that was that. Maybe Ishida is allowing us to create our own future for them, or maybe there will be a sequel but I feel like this story ended before it had even begun. I wanted to see more. Sad face. 

There are so many things that I enjoyed about this manga. For example, Suzuya is my phone background. I love everything about his character. I know throughout the manga that we are meant to question who is good and who is evil and I believe Suzuya is a great monument to that question. 

'They look at me with those eyes while pretending to be good people.' This resides well with me, I won't explain why. It's almost heartbreaking. Especially since he seems to see Shinohara's death as his fault. 

Tsukiyama was also a REALLY awesome character, and I think I kind of like the fact that we never really knew whether or not he was on Kaneki's side at all. I personally think he was, just because of his reaction to Kaneki going to save Yoshimura. 

I think Kaneki's mental breakdown was indeed a tragedy, but it still feels like it was rushed. I don't know. Maybe it's just me. 

Plus, and im sorry to be a complete little fangirl here, but I loved Amon and Akira's little relationship, and I didn't want him to just be killed off, but I didn't want that to be unknown either. He was hot, okay? He was a good looking bastard. On top of that, I have a thing about enemies that should be friends. I liked that he and Kaneki had that dynamic. Kaneki having to fight him made the tragedy even more....tragic. I like that. 

Seriously stop it guys! 

That's my opinion on it anyway. All day I've felt like just writing this all down to get it out in some way. But I think I might post like this whenever I want to truly discuss what's happening. It's like a literature class but for manga. Haha.
